One of our favorite parts of safari is getting to know the hosts of the safari camps. House in the Wild is a passion project of Tarquin and Lippa Wood, who transformed this pristine area adjacent to the Masai Mara in Kenya into a thriving wildlife conservancy. Coupled with their dedication to their own young family, House in the Wild is the perfect family safari destination.
The house itself was originally a family getaway on the Wood’s commercial farm but has been restored and lovingly put together by the Tarquin and Lippa and their team. The dining area and four cottages offer the warmth and rustic charm of a family lodge, with all the home comforts you could ask for.
Here you’ll be off the beaten track and experience the ultimate exclusive and private safari alongside a meaningful life changing journey, learning about the inspiring stories of how communities build their livelihoods in harmony with the wildlife of the Enonkishu Conservancy.
The House in the Wild is a private 12-14 bed lodge, and consists of a main lounge and dining area, a swimming pool with a thatch gazebo and bar and four cottages. Four unique cottages make up the house, ensuring plenty of room and privacy while at the same time having access to plenty of shared space. Perfect for larger family groups or a few families traveling together.
