Deciding where to stay when you travel as a family is perhaps the most important element of a fabulous and memorable trip.
We get it!
While there are countless amazing hotels all around the world, most simply do not work for families. Over the years, we have discovered a few very special places to stay that truly check all the boxes when it comes to extraordinary family travel.
And now, to make it easier than ever to decide where to stay on your next family trip or to inspire a new adventure, we’ve pulled all of these outstanding accommodations together into the Videre Collection.
All of the Videre Collection properties have a few things in common;
- Room configurations that give kids and parents separate sleeping areas, and that work well for families with more than 2 children;
- Ideal location for truly experiencing a destination beyond the walls of the hotel;
- Great value for money and of course some exclusive perks you won’t get anywhere else;
- Socially responsible operations and meaningful commitment to the surrounding local community;
- Beautiful architecture and design, unique cuisine, and the very best staff and service.
We will customize a perfect stay for your family at any one of these properties (and as always you can expect exclusive perks and amenities you won’t find anywhere else when you book with Videre Travel).
Central America and the Caribbean
Goldeneye Resort is a perfect properties for families. With 3 private beaches, plenty of water toys to keep everyone busy all day, and a private, safe compound where kids can freely run around, it’s hands-down one of our favorite properties in the Caribbean for families.
Looking for a new beach destination? In addition to a unique range of activities on-site and excursions further afar, Morgan’s Rock Nicaragua Eco Resort has one of the most awesome beaches in all of Central America! We also love their 2-bedroom bungalows. Between two bedrooms and two bathrooms, you’ll have plenty of space to spread out (and the private plunge pools are always a hit!)
Between the lush jungle, access to some of the most important Mayan ruins and a stunning Caribbean coastline, now is the time to discover Belize. Turtle Inn, a Coppola family property, is known for fabulous fresh meals (expect lots of seafood and fresh produce from their own gardens) and of course great wine. The resort is small enough to offer an intimate, personalized experience but spread out along Placencia’s beachfront to ensure your family’s privacy.
Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Belize … these Central American countries are perfect for a family trip. Combining jungles teeming with wildlife, a variety of endless beaches, and kid-loving local communities and family-centered cultures, it’s easy to travel to these countries from North America. And no jet lag is a big bonus! But for many families who have already explored Mexico, Belize, Costa Rica, Nicaragua – the big question is “what’s next?!” Well – the time is NOW to consider traveling to Panama with kids. I’m particularly excited about the new private island experience at Isla Palenque.
Located within walking distance of Manuel Antonio National Park, Arenas del Mar is the only true beachfront resort in Manual Antonio. Here you’ll have 11 acres of private nature reserve to explore and a pristine beach to call your own.
If a relaxing beach getaway in Central America is what you’re after, Punta Islita is the perfect spot. We love their 2-, 3-, ad 4-bedroom villas. And best of all, they offer a ton of included excursions and activities (zipline and horseback on the beach) and our clients get free breakfast and a nice resort credit here.
Chartering a catamaran in the Caribbean is also a super family friendly beach vacation experience that my families looking for a fun and unique trip are booking. Especially is you have a large group, or several families traveling together, this is a perfect beach getaway.
The South Pacific is an ideal destination for families who are eager to explore one of the most pristine oceans in the world, and the Jean Michel Custeau resort in Fiji is a superb home base! Here’s why the Jean Michel Cousteau resort is the best way to do Fiji with kids

One of our favorite parts of safari is getting to know the hosts of the safari camps. House in the Wild is a passion project of Tarquin and Lippa Wood, who transformed this pristine area adjacent to the Masai Mara in Kenya into a thriving wildlife conservancy. Coupled with their dedication to their own young family, House in the Wild is the perfect family safari destination.
Located in the 850,000 acre Namunyak Wildlife Conservation Trust, folded around the southern corner of the Mathews Mountain Range of northern Kenya, Sarara is family run and hosted. Experience the breathtaking landscape and uninterrupted game viewing on day and night game drives, guided bush walks, hikes into the Mathews Range, horse rides, camel treks or spend the afternoon relaxing around the rock swimming pool and let the wildlife come to you. A highlight of any Sarara visit is experiencing the centuries old, unphotographed Samburu Singing Wells.
While travelers for over one hundred years have fallen in love with Africa through her epic wildlife, it wasn’t until recently that our founder Sarah found herself and her daughter wandering around Africa on foot. That’s right, walking! In the wild African bush. With elephants, rhino and buffalo. While it may sound crazy, there is perhaps no better way to experience African than on foot than with a walking safari in Kenya with kids.
Offbeat Mara is a small, traditional safari camp, situated within the 74,000 acre Mara North Conservancy (MNC) adjacent to Kenya’s Masai Mara. The area is full of wildlife yet far from any other camp or lodge. MNC is only open to member camps and has a strict policy on game viewing etiquette. For these reasons you will get a wholly exclusive experience that is otherwise becoming hard to find in Africa!
